The painting is similar to the painting from Herri met de Bles in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

History:
Belonged to the Brudbourne collection before 1938, when it was acquired by the art dealer Sabin in London. It subsequently belonged to the private property of Rex de Charembac Nan Kivell in 1942 and 1943. June 14, 1961, No. 68 was auctioned at Sotheby's in London and then privately owned by Sir John Twisden. From 1966 to 1977 it belonged to the private collection of Dr. Hans A. Wetzlar in Amsterdam. On June 9, 1977, lot No. 15, it was auctioned at Sotheby's Max van Waaij in Amsterdam, on January 18, 1983, lot No. 177 b at Christies in New York City and on July 5, 1985, lot No. 53 at Christies in London . At all auctions, the painting has been attributed to Herri met de Bles.
