Gerlach focuses on the Invidia segment of the Prado Tabletop and pays quite a lot of attention to the way the figures are dressed. The young man to the left looks disappointed and is angry because he is being rejected as a lover by the girl. The man with the bone and the man carrying a sack envy the knight-like figure, who is a devil (because of the garden fork in his purse).
