History:
Before 1939 at Art Dealer Mondschein in Vienna. From 1939 at Art Dealer C. Marshall Spink in London and in 1949 at Art Dealer E. & A. Silberman Galleries in New York City. That same year, it came into the possession of Dr. GHA Clowes Coll. and transferred to the Clowes Fund Collection in Indianapolis (inv. 6). On loan to the Museum in 1972.
