Also called: The Hell - The Rich Man in Hell and The Poor - The Birth of Adam - Lazarus in Abraham's Womb - Dives, the rich man in hell and poor Lazarus in Abraham's bosom.

The painting is based on the right-inside panel of ˜The Garden of Earthly Delight' in the Prado in Madrid. The composition is similar to the painting which was auctioned by Palais Dorotheum in Vienna in 2016, with the exception of the two big figures above and lower-middle, which later have been added. This could be Dives, the rich man in hell and the poor Lazarus in Abraham's bosom
History:
Before 1940 at kunsthandel Paecht in Amsterdam. On 17/18 december 1954 auctioned at Giroux in Brussels as a Hieronymus Bosch. Then on 16 april 1980, lot no. 47 at Sotheby's in London as a follower of Hieronymus Bosch, and on 28 april 1994, lot no. 396 at the Hôtel Drouot in Paris. Then, twice at auction house Bonham in London first on 5 July 1996, lot no. 114 and last on 3 december 2008, lot no. 53 (as follower of Bosch). Finally it is auctioned by Drouot-Richelieu in Paris on November 28, 2012 as a Pieter Huys.
