The side panels are based on the painting in Museu de Arte Antiga in Lisbon; in the central panel are several other creations included.
The painting is borrowed from the Escorial.

History:
The center panel was in the middle of the 17th century owned by Don Fernando in Zarzuela, Duke of Benavent. Then to Madrid privately from Alama da d'Ossuna. In 1905, through inheritance came into possession of the Duchess of Duena 1905 -1964. The middle panel is signaled by Friedländer in 1942 by Marie-Therese de la Béraudière in Paris in 1947 by Mia Schmidt in Paris Then donated to the Prado in Madrid by Alice van Buuren in Brussels. The panels were until 1839 in the Escorial and now form part of the catalog of the Prado, however, lent to the El Escorial, where they are joined to the center panel in 1964.
