History:
Was from 1894 in possession of H. Gildemeester in Amsterdam, than from 1895 to 1905 by Kaufman in Berlin and Art Trade Kleinberger in Paris. Purchased by the Museum in 1905 or 1906. Note: Variation of the painting in the National Gallery in London. Founders portret deviates in style slightly from the rest of the performance (Maybe School of Jheronimus Bosch). There are more than ten (partially) similar compositions of Followers known.
