The composition is based on the right panel of the Garden of Earthly Delights from the Prado in Madrid and is a pendant of a painting Aeneas in the underworld that in 2012 is auctioned at Lempertz in Cologne.  A pendant (two related paintings, usually with the same dimensions) can be seen at Lempertz in Cologne (2012).

The composition of the painting is similar to the picture at Gallerie Finck in Brussels.
