The painting is based on the triptych in 'The Akademie der Bildende Kunste' in Vienna and is virtually identical to the painting in the Museum of modern art in Cairo. In addition, there are a dozen paintings of Followers with a similar composition. In the lower-right corner of the left panel: 'Jeronimus bosch' in Gothic letters.
