The painting was successively owned by Van den Hecke in Gant, Wafelaerts in Brussels, Jules de Brouwer 1884, Poullier-Ketele 1924, Le Roy 1926, Art Dealer Giroux in Brussels and 1931 Hôtel Drouot in Paris. The latest private owner was L.Jacobs van Merlen in Antwerp.
