Various sources believe that Jan Mandijn is the painter.

Color photo is cut off on all sides. The composition of the painting is (partly) comparable to copies of the same name in the (auction house) Palais Gallieréa in Paris (72 x 53.5), at Art Dealer Czuczka in Geneva (is different) and Montreal (72.5 x 99), Christies New York 1998 (72,5 x 99) and Art Dealer Smith in London (is different), at the private collection of Dr. Von Frey in Lucerne (is different) and with an unknown private person in Cologne.

History:

On 27 July 1942, lot no. 15, auctioned as a Jheronimus Bosch by art dealer van Marle & Rignelli from The Hague. In 1943 first spotted at an unknown Amsterdam art dealer and then at the F. Franke art dealer in Leipzig. In 1946 included in the National Museum in Warsaw.
