According to Friedländer the painting may be mutilated by restoration original. On the outside of the side panels are painted four weapons, which may include that of the family Vervoort. This means that painting is resaurated in the second half of the sixteenth century.The image of Hieronymus on the right panel corresponds to the image of Hieronymus on the central panel of the Hermietentriptych in the Doge's Palace in Venice.
