The painting is comparable to images from the Van Heek collection in Enschede, the Louvre in Paris, the Wenzheimer collection in Settignano (Florence), German art dealers in London, Hampel Fine Art in Munich 2020 and an anonymous collection in Valencia. (formerly Opocno)

History:

The painting was originally in the private possession of Prince Golinicheff-Koutousoff and Nicolas Riabouchinsky from Petrograd. In 1916 as No. 24 on the Auction List at the Plaza Hotel in New York (American Art Association) and owned by John G. Johnson of Philadelphia, who in 1917 bequeathed it to the City of Philadelphia.
